Brainstorm Set (Vol. 1, 2) by John Guastaferro – Video Download

Creative card magic, clever methods, and entertaining presentations—all in one outstanding two-volume collection!

Brainstorm – The Creative Card Magic of John Guastaferro brings together some of John's finest card creations, combining inventive plots, deceptive techniques, and engaging presentations. Most routines are designed for strolling and close-up performance, require no table or lengthy setup, and are accessible to the average magician.

Across two volumes, you'll discover 20 card routines and techniques spanning visual transformations, impossible transpositions, thought-of card revelations, false cuts, and memorable card-to-wallet magic. Each effect demonstrates how thoughtful construction and presentation can turn a clever method into a powerful audience experience.

Volume One

Ballet Cut

Learn the real work behind John's versatile in-the-hands false cut. Elegant and deceptive, this is a practical utility move you'll want to use in many routines.

Fairy Tale Frogs

Four frog-imprinted cards hop away one at a time, then transform into princes after a spectator blows a kiss. A charming packet trick with a final surprise.

Troubleshooter

The deck appears to have crashed, leaving cards with backs on both sides. This entertaining all-backs routine builds to a surprising conclusion.

Lost & Found

A signed card vanishes from inside a clear plastic wallet, then impossibly returns to it. A clever and memorable card-location effect.

Color Blind

A simple but powerful Ace-cutting demonstration leads into a strong card transposition.

Palm Reader

The four Aces make a startling revelation before changing while held in the spectator's hand.

Club Sandwich

Two selected cards magically change places in this quick, clever sandwich routine.

Double Monte

A three-card Monte-style demonstration ends with an impossible-looking transposition. A natural follow-up to Club Sandwich.

No Jokers Allowed

Jokers repeatedly interfere with an apparently impressive card trick, leading to an impromptu routine packed with magical surprises.

Detour

A selected card takes a whimsical journey before finally parking in your wallet. A fun and logical card-to-wallet routine.

Tidal Wave Aces

After cutting to the four Aces in a topsy-turvy shuffled deck, you visibly change the colour of the entire deck.

Volume Two

Party Animal

Your spectator becomes the guest of honour at a party hosted by the cards. This entertaining in-the-hands Triumph routine combines a playful presentation with strong magic.

Clairvoyance

A thought-of card is revealed in an elegant, eerie demonstration that feels like genuine mind reading.

Intuition

Inspired by Hofzinser's card magic, four Queens use their intuition to reveal a spectator's selected card in this small-packet miracle.

Out of the Blue

The four Aces and four Queens not only change places but also change their back designs. Gordon Bean praised it as one of the strongest small-packet transpositions he had seen.

Snowball Aces

The ink visibly melts away from both sides of the deck before magically returning. An exceptionally visual routine that does not use rough-and-smooth cards.

Tailspin

Using a four-of-a-kind freely chosen by the spectator, each card turns face down and then transforms—twice!

Synergy

A flashy four-card revelation in which each card helps reveal the next, creating a coordinated sequence of magical discoveries.

Bizarre Prequel

A two-phase prequel to Paul Harris's Bizarre Twist, offering a clean and clever approach to the Point of Departure plot.

Jazz Fusion

A modern take on the classic Jazz Aces plot. The four Jacks vanish into a black hole, leaving behind a startling surprise.

Gemini Prediction

A showstopping prediction routine featuring four randomly selected cards and an astonishing finale that takes the effect to an unexpected conclusion.
