Celebrity Walk of Fame by J. Royle is a highly commercial audience-participation routine that delivers the impact of a classic Chair Test—without using any chairs at all.

Five randomly selected volunteers join the performer on stage. Before they make their choices, predictions are written in full view on the backs of envelopes assigned to each volunteer. Each participant receives a number from one to five and freely chooses which of five Hollywood Walk of Fame stars to stand behind.

Next, six celebrity face masks are introduced and mixed by the volunteers. Each person selects a mask and puts it on, leaving one celebrity randomly eliminated from the routine. The newly created celebrities then mix themselves up on stage and choose where to stand.

The volunteers retrieve their original envelopes and read the predictions aloud. The results are astonishing: the predicted favourite colours of the celebrities match the colours recorded in the envelopes—even though the celebrity identities had not yet been chosen when the predictions were made.

But there's another surprise! The colour on the back of each participant's chosen Walk of Fame star also matches the colour on the card inside their envelope, creating an additional impossible climax.

An Extended Comedy Routine

The included PDF also teaches a longer version in which each volunteer acts like the celebrity shown on their mask. The behaviour can resemble hypnosis to the audience, but no hypnosis is used. This adds opportunities for spontaneous comedy, audience interaction, and memorable stage moments.
