Know Brainer by Michael Breggar – Comedy Mentalism with Practical Performance Ideas

Mentalism can be mysterious, engaging, and genuinely funny. In Know Brainer, Michael Breggar explores how comedy and mind reading can work together to create memorable entertainment for audiences of all sizes.

This comprehensive book presents a collection of stand-up, parlor, and close-up mentalism routines that move away from the traditional serious mind reader persona. Instead, Breggar focuses on interactive performances built around humor, relatable objects, and strong audience involvement.

Inside Know Brainer, performers will find creative routines using everyday items such as LEGO bricks, fish bowls, lottery tickets, paper plates, foam bricks, and more. The material combines comedy, structure, and practical mentalism principles to help performers create entertaining and surprising experiences.

Featured routines include:

• Know Brainer – Michael Breggar’s signature 10–15 minute comedic Q&A routine, combining audience interaction, fast pacing, humor, and a strong mentalism finale.
• Un-Scene – A routine focused on revealing a spectator’s imagined scene through a combination of memory, suggestion, and mind reading.
• What’s in My Pants? – A humorous Bank Night-style routine featuring colorful sweatpants, a laundry line, and an unexpected conclusion.
• AMP-ACAAN – A creative approach to the Any Card At Any Number plot, blending coincidence, prediction, and psychological principles.
• Lego Soup for the Sole – A visual and comedic mentalism routine using LEGO bricks, ending with a memorable physical comedy moment.

Know Brainer has received praise from respected figures in the mentalism community, including Marc DeSouza, Marc Salem, Marc Paul, and Mark Strivings, for its combination of humor, creativity, and practical performance material.

Whether you are a professional mentalist, magician, or performer looking to add more comedy and audience connection to your acts, this book provides a wide range of ideas, routines, and approaches for creating entertaining mentalism performances.
