 March 16th, 2016 – Video Download

The At the Table Live Lecture featuring Mark Calabrese from March 16th, 2016 is a structured lecture focused on practical card magic, mentalism, and performance theory.

Mark Calabrese, a working performer and creator from New York, presents a selection of routines alongside insights into presentation, character development, and spectator interaction.

The lecture includes a range of effects that combine method-driven card magic with performance considerations. Effects such as Mystery Card and Dead Man’s Hand demonstrate direct, audience-involving plots with minimal handling, while routines like Ace Cutting and Bottom Deal focus on technical card work and advanced sleights.

Additional material such as Cut for Kiss and Dirty Rat adds variety, covering both close-up entertainment and interactive betting-style presentations.

 Performance Theory

Beyond the tricks themselves, the lecture places emphasis on performance structure. Mark Calabrese discusses how character, storytelling, and approach contribute to a more natural and engaging performance.

Topics include building rapport, managing spectators, and developing a consistent persona as part of the overall learning experience.

The content is aimed at magicians looking to expand their repertoire with practical routines while also improving their performance style. The explanations help viewers understand both the mechanics and the thinking behind each effect.
